2nd Annual “Verse & Visuals, The Art Of The Poem”, an Eye-catching & Thought-provoking Exhibition

Original poems from Glen Rock students and adults with art from local artists

are the centerpiece of a special April Poetry Month exhibition April 3 – April 29

The Glen Rock Public Library is a repository of words and art, and this April, its gallery walls will be filled with both. Arts Council of Glen Rock (ACGR) and the Friends of the Glen Rock Public Library will stage an extraordinary repeat exhibition that reflects the exhibition’s title – “Verse & Visuals, The Art of the Poem” – on view throughout April’s National Poetry Month.

Selected poems, written by Glen Rock 5th grade students as well as some talented local adults, will be matched with a painting, drawing, photo or mixed media work created specifically by an ACGR member artist that complements the essence of each poem. These pairings will be featured on the Library Gallery walls and columns and in the display cabinets.

The public is invited to visit the Glen Rock Public Library to see this highly visual presentation that is both eye-catching and thought-provoking. A reception for poets and artists, also open to the public, is scheduled for Sunday, April 6 from 2 to 4 p.m.

This exhibition is sponsored in part by three Glen Rock businesses that value the importance of bringing art into daily life of the community – The Curious Reader, Catalano Coffee Company, and Giannella’s Subs. The library is wheelchair-accessible and ADA-compliant.
