On behalf of the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Glen Rock, we announce with deep sorrow the passing of former Councilmember and Council President Teresa Gilbreath.
In 2019, Teresa sought election to the Borough Council in order to give back to the community where she and her husband, Lee, raised their daughter, Kyra. She served with distinction for six years, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to the residents of Glen Rock and to the responsibilities of public service.
Throughout her tenure, Teresa was a dedicated advocate for seniors, fiscal responsibility, environmental stewardship, the library, and the arboretum. She worked diligently to enhance community programming and improve communication across the Borough. Through these efforts, she leaves a lasting and meaningful legacy.
The Borough has lost a respected and formidable public servant. Teresa’s dedication, integrity, and enduring commitment to Glen Rock will be remembered with gratitude, and her absence will be deeply felt.
We extend our sincere condolences to her husband, Lee; her daughter, Kyra; her mother, Irene; her brother, Stephen; and to all who knew her and were touched by her life.
By order of the Mayor, all municipal flags in the Borough of Glen Rock will be lowered to half-staff on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from sunrise to sunset, in recognition of the life and service of Teresa Gilbreath.
