The Glen Rock Neighborhood Network (GRNN) is an initiative to strengthen Glen Rock as an intergenerational and caring community. It seeks to help older residents live in their homes with greater security, comfort, and connection with the help of trained, background checked Glen Rock volunteers.
What does GRNN membership include?
Transportation- Rides to local destinations, including errands, medical and other appointments, stores and social events.
Errands- Volunteers can pick up prescriptions, shop for groceries, mail items at the post office, and more.
Minor Household Tasks- Light bulb changing, minor repairs, flipping bed mattresses, picture hanging, changing smoke alarm batteries, lifting heavy boxes, etc.
Light Technology Assistance - Troubleshooting your computer, smartphone or other devices, and setting up TV/cable/garage remotes
Friendly Visits - Volunteers can spend time with you perhaps playing or having tea and a chat, or, if you are caring for a member of your household, spend time with them to enable you to tend to your own errands or appointments.
Events and Activities- Invitations to social gatherings, activities, and events, including: parties, coffee meetups, lectures, educational activities, group walks, movies, and more
Resources: Access to member directory, weekly community calendar of events, and a Village Forum to share ideas and local information and ask questions of other members.
