Arts Council of Glen Rock Celebrates 5 Years!

The Arts Council of Glen Rock recently marked five years as a nonprofit focused on bringing a variety of art experiences to residents – nearly 50 activities and projects.

Recent and planned activities were highlighted at its February 22 member appreciation event attended by 60 members and guests. Arts Council co-presidents Mona Milbrodt and Patti McHugh emphasized that members who step up to volunteer, lead and assist in planning the many events and activities strengthen the organization, and help it reach its goals.

A roster of new and returning events includes “Focus on the Artist,“ a cluster of special, smaller, focused activities for artists including Open Studio and Plein Air Sunday Mornings, Winter Creativity Challenge on social media, Think Tank for Creatives roundtable discussion (January 10), and Art Materials Swap (March 16, 2024). Coming up are two returning fan favorites – the 5th Annual Short Films Festival (March 24, 2024), July 4th Flash Mob, and Arts Fest for musicians, artists, and makers (September 28, 2024).

The Arts Council encourages members to meet and exchange ideas, and to celebrate the joy and experimentation inherent in the artistic process whether it’s writing, producing, performing, creating, sponsoring or simply celebrating art.
