Mental Health Awareness Month – PSA Video BREATHE

The Glen Rock Police Department is honored to support Mental Health Awareness month with a PSA video coordinated by P.O. Matt Stanislao, President of the Bergen County Juvenile Officers Association: The production, entitled "BREATHE" is a first-person POV short film in which high school students worry about getting in trouble for calling 9-1-1 for a friend who has overdosed. This initiative is a collaborative effort by local and county agencies throughout Bergen County NJ to promote The Good Samaritan Law and to model behaviors necessary to help save someone's life who has overdosed. Final takeaway messages include the purpose of these types of laws and reasons to resist the urge to panic or run away in this situation.

Special thanks to Chief William Wicker of the Oradell Police Department, the Glen Rock High School Drama Club, Ramsey Rescue Squad, and Sgt. Ed Visich (Park Ridge PD Retired) for their roles in the production. We also wish to recognize the Bergen County Police Chiefs Association, Chief David V. Murphy (Wyckoff PD) - President, for the association’s ongoing support of these efforts.
