Mayor Morieko's May 21st Reverse 911

The text version of Mayor Morieko's May 21st Reverse 911 call is below:

This is Mayor Kristine Morieko of the Borough of Glen Rock. Today is May 21st, 2024 and this is in reference to a confirmed shooting at Wilde Memorial Park.

I apologize for the late call. I have been on scene waiting for permission to speak.

As per the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office, there is No Threat to Public Safety at this time.

This is an ongoing investigation and I can not and will not give out inaccurate information.

On scene we have the Glen Rock Police Department, Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Glen Rock Fire Department, Glen Rock Office of Emergency Management, New Jersey Transit, Bergen County Prosecutor's Office, Bergen County Sheriff's department, and multiple officers and equipment from neighboring agencies.

The Glen Rock Office of Emergency Management contacted the public school security director to coordinate crisis management for any student or parent who may have been at Wilde Park today. I thank them for their cooperation and support.

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office is the lead agency and any and all information will flow from their representative when it is available.

Again, there is no threat to public safety.

Thank you and be well.
